What type of work do you do in your role as an associate at EY-Parthenon?

As an associate you are fully part of the team from the day you start working. The type of work can be different for each project, depending on the nature of the project and the rest of the team. In my projects thus far I have been responsible for various analyses: financial data analysis, internal (sales) data analysis, competitive positioning, identifying market trends and store ‘white spot’ analysis.

What is one of your favorite projects that you’ve worked on?

My third project, in the luxury beds market, was really exciting. We assessed their past performance, but also the feasibility of their business plan. I focused on the geographical part of a store expansion, assessing the location of the planned stores with regard to the addressable market within a certain radius. It was interesting to combine demographic data and competitor locations on a detailed level with the performance of the current store portfolio. In combination with the customer information we could draw some really interesting conclusions.

Why did you choose EY-Parthenon?

During my studies I came in touch with strategy consulting and it has always kept my interest. During my Master’s degree I wanted to really experience strategy consulting, so I paused my studies for two months to do an internship at EY-Parthenon. The combination of the projects, the type of work and the colleagues made sure that after the internship I was fully convinced this was the perfect job for me.

How would you describe the culture at EY-Parthenon?

Down-to-earth, driven, pragmatic and energising. All team members work together to get the best out of the project but also the best out of themselves and each other. The atmosphere is open, kind and personal.
